Helping families support learning at home
At The Learning Project, we believe that schools lay a strong foundation and parents deserve practical tools to build on it.
It all started with a conversation between two parents: Rhi, a digital designer and mum of two, wanted to better understand how to support her son’s maths learning at home.
Gemma, a seasoned primary school teacher with over 15 years
in the classroom, offered calm, practical insight, breaking down strategies in a way that made everything click.
That moment sparked an idea: What if every parent had access to that same clarity and encouragement, in their own time and on their own terms?
Together, they built The Learning Project - a digital platform offering short videos, printable tools, and playful learning activities based on the New Zealand curriculum. Not to replace school, but to reinforce it. Not as homework, but as connection.

Confidence, Clarity, Connection, Support, Fun at Home
At the heart of The Learning Project is a simple belief… parents don’t need to be teachers to make a big difference. What they need is clarity, confidence, and quick ideas that fit into everyday life.
That’s why we create short, practical courses and resources that translate the New Zealand Curriculum into plain language, so you can connect with what your child is learning and feel supported at home.
Lots of parents tell us the same thing…
They really want to help their kids but the way things are taught now just feels confusing.
That’s why we created The Learning Project. We make school learning simple, practical, and easy to understand, so you can feel confident supporting your child without it becoming another big job on your plate.
